Welcome, thank you for visiting, I’m Amy.

I am blessed with my two angels: John ( 8/10 ) and May ( 9/12 ), and my husband, Marshall.

I am always learning.

I love to teach and nurture my children — I am blessed to be their constant as a stay-at-home mom.

I am passionate about early literacy and phonics and music — I have a Masters in Elementary Education, studied voice performance, and am a former Kindergarten teacher.

I am passionate about health, not medicine — I am a former vegan but now love and crave the goodness of saturated fat from animals.  I love to eat.  I don’t count calories.

I am passionate about homebirth and breastfeeding and cloth diapering and gentle parenting — but many of my friends “cry it out” and I don’t think they are horrible moms.  I believe a baby is a baby who deserves to live and to live whole.

I am passionate about Israel.

I love to laugh, easy craft, cook, eat, talk politics, garden/kill plants, argue and debate.

I am stubborn, but still loved and sought after by my Creator and Saviour, Jesus Christ.

I pray that I serve God with my words — and that my time spent here will not be time taken away from Him or my family.

1 He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High
Shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty.
2 I will say of the LORD, “He is my refuge and my fortress;
My God, in Him I will trust.”

Psalm 91

  1. I am sitting here at my computer (on pinterest shhh..) at 3 am and came across you. I am amazed! To be honest, I had bad thoughts about home school. I am mother to 3 grown children. When I had them I was so busy just trying to keep my house clean, I left “teaching ” them stuff to my mother (the teacher) and then public school. Now I am a “Ya-Ya” to a three year old and she spends her days with me. I was just lost and a little frustrated as to exactly what to do with her. I will be back to read more and apply your experiences to make my Kamani ready for school. Thank you! LaChen Brown

  2. Lovely About Me page! You have a precious little family. I keep having thoughts about cloth diapering my 4th baby that is coming soon, but I just don’t think I have it in me. I am also a stay-at-home, homeschooling mom. You have a delightful blog. :)
